Timang Beach is a dramatic limestone cliff beach famous for its traditional wooden rope bridge (Jembatan Timang) that spans across crashing Indian Ocean waves. Originally built by lobster fishermen, the bridge has become one of Yogyakarta's most thrilling adventure attractions.
"For generations, local fishermen built and rebuilt this precarious rope bridge to reach the lobster-rich rocks on the other side of the cove. The bridge is made entirely from wooden planks and nylon ropes, hand-pulled by local volunteers. The tradition of lobster fishing here dates back centuries, and the bridge has been featured on the Japanese TV show "Legends of the Hidden Temple.""
