Opening Hours
Monday–Sunday: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time. The temple complex is most comfortable to visit in the morning (6:00–9:00 AM) when the air is still cool and it's not too crowded.
How to Get to Prambanan
- Trans Jogja bus: Take route 1A or 1B, alight at the Prambanan stop. Fare IDR 3,500.
- Motorbike/car: About 17 km from the city center, 30–45 minutes depending on traffic.
- Taxi/ride-hailing: Gojek or Grab available, estimated IDR 35,000–50,000 from the city center.
Must-See Highlights
Candi Siwa is the largest and tallest temple (47 meters) in the complex. Inside are four chambers housing statues of Shiva, Durga, Agastya, and Ganesha. Candi Brahma and Wisnu to its left and right also feature beautiful Ramayana reliefs.
